The insulin plant is popularly known as the spiral flag and fiery costus. It belongs to the family of Cactaceae. The native of this plant is central America. The leaves look dark green on the upper side and light purple on the underneath. The insulin plant flowers are in beautiful orange color that blooms in warm months.  The place you choose to grow the plant should balance both shade and sunlight.

 It does not need deep planting;  2-3 inch depth is good enough for planting and also for good growth.
