Description
The Marathi Moggu belongs to the botanical genus of Ceiba Pentandra, is a type of caper, and is also called Kapok Buds in English. Kapok is the most common name used to call thicker trees.
Marathi Moggu is widely used in South Indian cuisine, especially in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, in rice dishes like pulao and Bisi bele bath, and in a variety of spices. The Ceiba Pentandra doesn’t have a great aroma in nature but they emit its full aroma and flavor while frying in the oil.
The taste of the Marathi Moggu is very similar to the blend of black pepper and mustard. Kapok Buds are floating and are used in making car seat stuff.
