Description
According to South Indian culture, Drishti is believed to be the expression of negative thoughts that drive a person. Even our life force is affected by this negative vision, which means “Evil Eye”.
There are many rituals to protect us and to resist this evil eye. Dried chilies, peppercorns, camphor, coconut, lemon, and crystal salt are used in rituals to counteract this negative energy.
Have you seen Drishti dolls hanging outside most Hindu shops and houses in South India? It is believed that these masks with scary facial structures will divert the evil eye and save us from danger.
