Description
Kenaf leaves grow from medium to large sizes, and those leaves are broad, flat, and pliable. It is a dense shrub-like plant that grows up to heights of two to three meters. Stems are reddish-purple in color with dark green foliage.
Small-size Sorrel leaves provide a mild tangy flavor, whereas more mature leaves are robust and acrid. Heating the leaves will affect their taste and makes them sour. This plant is grown for its leaves in Fiji and India. There are two varieties of Gongura, namely green-stemmed leaf and red-stemmed. The red type is sourer than the green.
