Solanum torvum is the botanical name of a turkey berry that belongs to the Solanaceae family. Turkey berry is commonly known as susumber berry, devil’s fig, pea eggplant, and plate brush. Turkey berry is native to Brazil, India, Mexico, and the Caribbean. It is grown in tropical regions with up to 2 to 3 meters in height. Turkey berry is known as sundakkai in Tamil and is often used to make curries in Tamil Nadu.
