Ginseng is the plant roots of Panax (genus). There are different varieties of ginseng roots available such as American Ginseng and Asian Ginseng (South China Ginseng, Koran Ginseng). These variations were measured based on the presence of gintonin and ginsenosides in the roots. Ginseng roots of plants took almost 4 years to reach full maturity. After a year of preparation, 4 to 5 crops are needed to be planted before the harvest of the first crop.
