Description
Stylosanthes Hamata is a species of flowering plant belonging to Fabaceae. The plant also has a common name, pencil flower. These plants are best known for their triploid leaves and its small yellow flowers. Caribbean Stylo is a short-lived perennial herb. The Caribbean Stylo natives the American continents.
This species usually grows up to 1.5 m tall. The trunk is 30 cm to 75 cm long. Its yellow pea-shaped flowers are 2 cm long with a terminal spike and a fixed petal 4 mm to 5 mm wide. The seed-pod is 6-7 mm long and the lower division is 3.5 mm long. Seeds kidney-shaped, brown, 2 mm to 2.5 mm long.
