Roots

Black Musli’s roots are laterally plump in appearance. The length of its roots are usually 4 inches long. Black Musli is called Talamuli in Hindi Language because its roots are said to have some resemblances when compared to the roots of Tala or Palm Trees. It has roots that are of tuberous and wrinkled appearance.

This plant has a rootstock that is said to be small, extended and elongated; it is said to grow between the length of five centimeters to 22 centimeters and is brownish in color. The rootstock has a few lateral roots that are stout, five centimeters or longer in length and has a dull white color.

Leaves

Black Musli plants have leaves that are described to be sessile or others use the word petiolate; meaning, the leaves of this plant are attached directly to the base of the plant. Just like Black Musli’s roots, its leaves are also observed to have some resemblances to that of Tala or Palm Trees.

Black Musli’s leaves are eight inches to 18 inches in length and one inch to two inches wide.
