Ingredients : 

  • Banana Flower – 1
  • Rice – 1 Cup
  • Moong Dhal – 1 Tablespoon
  • Urad Dhal – 2 Tablespoon
  • Channa Dhal – 1 Tablespoon
  • Toor Dhal – ¼ Cup
  • Red Chilly – 2 nos
  • Coconut – Required amount
  • Asafoetida – 1 Piece
  • Cumin Seeds – ¼ Cup
  • Salt – Required amount

Procedure : In a large bowl combine 1 cup rice, 1 tablespoon Moong Dhal, 1 cup Toor Dhal, 1 tablespoon Channa Dhal, 1 cup Cumin,  1 tablespoon Urad Dhal and pour water until they are submerged and soak well overnight. Then the next morning add 2 red chilies, a small piece of asafoetida, chopped coconut, and the required amount of salt to the soaked contents and grind well. When the mixture reaches the pancake batter consistency, transfer it to a separate bowl. Then lightly fry the finely chopped banana flower in oil. Fried banana flower can be mixed with batter mixture to make pancakes, which helps in eliminating constipation during pregnancy

Banana Flower Salad

Ingredients : 

  • Banana Flower – 2
  • Spring Onion – 1 (Finely Sliced)
  • Shelled & Cooked Prawns – 500 grams
  • Roasted Almonds – 6 Tablespoons
  • Sour Lime / Lemon Juice – 1 Teaspoon
  • Butter – 1 Tablespoon
  • Salt & Pepper Powder – Required amount

Procedure: Initially, peel the hard part of the banana flower then put it in a bowl and pour water over it. Add a teaspoon of vinegar and soak in water overnight. Next morning the contents should be well filtered and drained of water. Then add a pinch of salt and a pinch of pepper to the banana blossom and add the shelled & cooked prawns to it. Add this mixture to the butter and cook well. Coarsely grind the nuts and set aside. In a bowl, combine the butter-fried banana flower, prawns & groundnuts, and heat for 1 to 2 minutes. Then cool it well for 30 minutes. Finally, sprinkle the chopped spring onions on it.
