Best Ayurvedic Products For Increasing Height

Nowadays, height is a major issue for many people. Shorter people have an unconfident mindset and they underestimate themselves because of their height problems. In workplaces, colleges, and schools, they face various bad experiences due to their height. To overcome these problems,  Ayurveda aids you to get the height you need. There are various herbs available in Ayurveda to treat height problems.

These ayurvedic herbs trigger the secretion of the growth hormone somatotropin to increase height. The pituitary gland is a master gland that has a major role in the secretion of hormones. This growth hormone increases steadily during childhood, reaches a peak stage in adulthood, and then steadily decreases at which the body stops to grow after the age of 25 to 27.

Human growth hormones are secreted throughout the lifetime. The main reasons for the production of growth hormone in humans are chemical balance and cell rejuvenation in our body. Ayurveda compares humans with plants. Plants cannot attain their maximum height if water, sunlight and roots are blocked. Likewise, each and every person has a unique gene that is programmed to attain a specific height. But without taking the necessary steps like consuming nutritional food and exercise, our body won’t be able to attain its maximum height.

Short height can be due to heredity reasons, lack of proper nutrition, deficiency in essential vitamins and minerals, substance abuse, lack of sufficient physical activity, endocrine/ hormonal problems, mostly related to the hypo-functional pituitary gland. Issues with bone formation and calcification are also responsible for shorter stature and build.

How Height is Increased

Genetic or heredity problems do not alone affect human height. Our human adult body is made up of 206 skeletal bones and babies have 300 bones in which some of the bones will be joined while growing. These bones are developed by the effects of certain growth hormones. The stimulation of the pituitary gland will enhance the production of hormones which aids in the growth of the cartilaginous(young) portions of the bones of the lower body. This will increase the height of a person.

The adults can even grow a few centimeters in height, even after all the lower body bones are joined. This is due to the spinal cord in the upper body. It also contributes to human height. In the lower body, the length of the femur  (thighbone), patella, tibia, and fibula are responsible for height.

The spinal cord has a total of 25 non-fusible discs. An increase in the production of growth hormones will make the disc grow thicker. The non-fusible discs contribute 20-25%  of our total height. For example, if each disc gets 0.20 centimeter thicker, then your spinal cord gets increased by 0.20 x 25 (non-fusible discs) which increases your height by 5cm taller.

Factors Influencing Height

Genetics, hormones, nutrition, physical activities, and body health conditions are the main factors involved in increasing or decreasing height.

Genetics: DNA is a major factor that influences height and it is responsible for 80% of a person’s height. The children of tall people will eventually grow taller like parents. Children may sometimes be taller than the parents based on the DNA arrangements.

Based on the study, there are more than 700 different genes that determine height. These genes affect the growth of bone plates and the secretion of growth hormones. Genetic conditions like Down syndrome, Turner syndrome, Williams syndrome, and Marfan syndrome can also affect a person’s height. These problems block the growth of bones.

Single-letter DNA substitution fused in a gene called High-mobility group AT-hook 2 (HMGA2) which plays a vital role in height. We are having a pair of HMGA2; one from father and another one from mother. People with a different combination of this DNA will have their height as;
--> Two copies of the tall variant of HMGA2 – average height ( centimeter taller than short)
--> Two copies of the short variant of HMGA2 – shorter than a tall variant
--> One copy of tall & One copy of short variant – middle height

Hormones: The body secretes more than one hormone that commands the growth plates to produce new bone and thickens the spinal cord discs. The maximum height a person attains in the adult stage is a result of their genes and nutritional food intake during their growth. Height is managed by hormones including growth hormone, sex hormones, and thyroid hormones.
Growth hormones: This major hormone is secreted in the pituitary gland which is important for increasing height. Health conditions can restrict the amount of hormone secretion and blocks the growth. Congenital growth hormone deficiency is a genetic condition in which children grow slower.

Thyroid hormones: It is responsible for osteoclasts (aged bone resorption) and osteoblasts (new bone formation), thus influencing height. Thyroid hormone transcript Insulin-like growth factor I triggers binding of proteins IGFBP-2 and IGFBP-4 ( Insulin-like growth factor-binding proteins), which interact with growth hormones and increase height.
Sex hormones: Testosterone (Male hormone) and estrogen (female hormone) are the sex hormones in humans that increase height during puberty time. Males grow taller than females and the time duration of growth is also longer for males.

Nutrition: Proper food routine will help in increasing a child’s height. Children will grow steadily due to growth of bone plates on their hands and legs. The growth plates create new bones which make the children taller. So it is important to provide healthy and nutritional food to the children.

Physical activity and body conditions: Several health issues and lack of proper exercise may block the growth of bones. Sometimes, serious health issues may decrease the height from normal height and make you feel weaker.

Improves Height During Development

DNA plays a major role in the development of bones which influences height. It is impossible to change the arrangement of genes in DNA. But, there are some factors that can increase the growth hormone and helps in improving height. Height can be enhanced during childhood and puberty. So consider these factors for growing children and adults.

Provide Good Nutrition: Nourish your children with nutrient-rich foods. Vitamin D, Vitamin B, and Vitamin C are important vitamins that improve height. Children and young people should be nourished with plenty of fruit and vegetables. Calcium-rich food provides strength to the bones and protein-rich food helps in bone growth.

Better Sleep: Deep sleep stimulates the secretion of growth hormones in the pituitary hormone. It improves the growth and development of bones in children and adults. Sleep will treat depression, state of mind and aids in increasing height. Sleeping in the correct position will stretch your spine and increase your height.

Regular and Proper Exercise: Regular exercise also helps in the normal physical development. Cycling may stretch the leg and taking part in indoor or outdoor games can make bones denser, and stronger.

Relation Of Height With Age

Height gets increased steadily for a particular age and then the growth stops. In men, the height is stopped at the age of 25 and in women, it is 21. Most of them grow suddenly after puberty. After this period, the plates stop creating new bones, and then the person stops growing step by step. Firstly, The hands and feet stop growing which is followed by the arms, legs and finally the spine.

Even though, it is also possible to grow up to 25 (women) and 27-30 (men). It is harder to improve height in older people. The fastest period of growth in humans is the first 9 months of creation in the womb. After entering into the earth it slows down. Children in the childhood stage grow at an average height of 5.5 cm per year.

Hormone Aids in Growth

GH-Growth hormone is produced by the anterior pituitary gland which is controlled by two hypothalamic peptides hormones.
Growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) or somatocrinin, which triggers growth hormone secretion.
Growth hormone-inhibiting hormone (GHIH) or somatostatin, which blocks growth hormone release without affecting growth hormone production.

The Growth hormone possesses an anabolic process that build-ups organs, tissues, aids in growth, cell reproduction, and regeneration. It is also a reason for the mineralization of bone and enhances muscle mass. GH plays a vital role during the maturation of a child during puberty and gives heavy physical strength. The functions of GH include

--> Enhanced protein synthesis
--> Increased lipolysis
--> Improved collagen synthesis
--> Increased cartilage growth
--> Decreased glycogen synthesis
--> Minimized glucose utilization
--> Boosts immune cell function

The external factors that affect the production of growth hormone in pituitary glands are age, sex, sleep, food routine, excess alcohol consumption, and exercise. There are various artificial medicines available in the market to increase the growth hormones. But it may cause side effects to your body. So better try herbal products to increase height.
